Are ultrasounds safe?
Extensive studies have found that ultrasounds have not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby and 3D/4D/HDlive scanning uses the same type and intensity as a traditional 2D ultrasound scan.
How much does it cost?
Our 3D/4D ultrasound packages are priced to fit almost any budget and start at only $89 with our Gender! Full motion video, images, and more are available to you for a great experience.
When is the best time?
Understanding 2D, 3D, 4D, and 5D/HD Live Ultrasounds
2D Ultrasound: The traditional black-and-white scan you see at your doctor’s office. It creates a flat, 2-dimensional cross-section used primarily for diagnostic checks, measuring growth, and early gender reveal scans.
3D Ultrasound: Takes multiple 2D images and compiles them into a crisp, three-dimensional photo. This allows you to clearly see specific features like your baby’s cute face, tiny fingers, and feet.
4D Ultrasound: Adds real-time movement to 3D imaging, turning static photos into a live video. You can watch your baby stretch, suck their thumb, yawn, or wave in real time.
5D / HD Live Ultrasound: The absolute latest in elective prenatal imaging. HD Live uses advanced lighting software and flesh-tone rendering to give you high-definition, hyper-realistic views of your baby with extraordinary depth and detail.
Elective 4D and HD ultrasounds that are safe for mom and the baby.
Yes! A Meet the Baby Ultrasound is completely safe for both mother and fetus. Our state-of-the-art ultrasound technology uses the exact same non-invasive, high-frequency sound waves (intensity limits and power settings) used in a traditional 2D diagnostic ultrasound at your OB-GYN or doctor’s office.
Instead of flat, black-and-white 2D views, our advanced software takes those exact same sound waves and turns them into stunning, real-time 3D ultrasound photos, moving 4D video, and lifelike 5D/HD Live prenatal video. There is zero radiation or magnetic fields involved—just gentle, safe sound technology.
At Meet the Baby, your safety and peace of mind are our highest priorities. All scans are performed by trained sonographers who specialize in 3D/4D/5D HD Live elective imaging and strictly adhere to safe scan duration guidelines (AIUM safety standards). You can rest assured knowing you are receiving the highest quality, most safe pregnancy ultrasound experience available.
The Best Time to Schedule Your 3D, 4D, & 5D/HD Live Ultrasound
The best time to have your full 4D/HDlive ultrasound is between 26 and 34 weeks. It is possible to get 3D/4D/HD images at any time, but within this range the baby has well developed facial features, yet still has enough amniotic fluid for us to get great images.
Many expectant parents choose to book their first 3D/4D baby scan around 26 weeks to see a cute view of their baby’s face along with most of their body. They often return around 30 to 33 weeks when facial details are fully defined and baby has filled out.
With advanced HD Live and 5D ultrasound imaging, you will experience an unforgettable maternal bonding session. From a tiny yawn or stretch to a wave or early smile, you can capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments directly to your phone or USB drive to share easily with family and friends!
Early Gender Reveals & Follow-Up Sessions
We also see many parents during earlier stages—around 14 to 20 weeks—for early gender determination and gender reveal ultrasounds. Watching your baby move around in real-time 4D ultrasound is incredible during these earlier weeks! Many parents choose to return around 30 weeks for detailed, close-up facial pictures (often at a special returning client discount—check our Ultrasound Packages and Pricing page for full details).
It is truly amazing to watch your baby grow and change week by week! Explore our 3D/4D Ultrasound Gallery to compare image examples from different weeks of pregnancy and decide when you want to capture your special moments.
SneakPeek Prenatal DNA Gender Testing
Find Out Your Baby’s Gender Earlier
Can’t wait until your ultrasound?
Meet the Baby also offers SneakPeek® prenatal DNA gender testing, allowing expecting parents to learn their baby’s gender as early as 7 weeks.
A simple blood-based DNA test can detect the presence or absence of Y-chromosome DNA. Testing is performed in the comfort of our private ultrasound studio, giving you an opportunity to combine your early gender test with an ultrasound experience.
